Local Walk Guides
To mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Society, it was decided to produce a set of Walks Leaflets, to give a guide to the historical features of the area along four country walking routes around Keynsham and Saltford. Preparing the route directions and text took a lot of walking and drafting but the fished publications have been very popular and are still available, both in print form and in downloadable form from this website.

You can download these walks and use at your leisure. These are available to both members and non-members.
In addition, we organise guided walks and tours around the local area, usually during the summer months. These are also open to both members and non-members. There is no requirement to book, just turn up. Each walk is guided and we take you around local historical sites of interest. These are gentle walks and no special walking equipment is needed (apart from comfortable footwear and water-proofs, just in case it rains).
Summer Public Walks

During the summer months, we aim to organise walks around the Keynsham and Saltford area. The walks are led by a member of the K&S LHS and usually take around 1.5 hours, stopping at local sites of historical interest. These public walks are available to non-members. They are gentle and usually cover around 1.5 miles.

Details of our walks can be found on our "Events Page". You do not need to be a member to join our summer walks.

We would love to have additional guides from within our membership for these walks so we can put on more events. If you would be interested in becoming a guide, please contact us below (be reassured there is no requirement to have any specialist knowledge - we can provide an easy to follow guide). It is a good way of seeing the local history and meeting people with a shared interest in history. If you are interested in becoming a guide, please contact us.
