On Monday 15th September 2025, we celebrated our 60th Anniversary. This event also coincided with our Annual General Meeting and was extremely well attended, with over 60 members present.
During the event we said a grateful thank you to Richard Dyson who, after 11 years of loyal service, was retiring from the role of Chairman. A formal thank you was provided by Brian Vowles. Both Richard and his wife Gill were awarded Honorary Life Membership for their dedication and service to the Society.
At the event we launched our new website and provided members with a very brief overview on the new resources and material we now have available on line. After this presentation, members enjoyed a buffet with drinks which, was prepared by Anne Jackson, one of our committee members. During the buffet members were invited to participate in a quiz on the local history of Keynsham and Saltford. The winning team scored an impressive 29 out of 32 points.
To mark the 60th anniversary of the society, a celebration cake was cut by the Society's President, Jon Gibbons. We have included some photographs from the event.
